Hysteroscopic surgery (keyhold intra-uterine surgery) Diagnostic Hysteroscopy Hysteroscopy Radiofrequency Endometrial Ablation (Novasure) for treatment of dysfunctional uterine bleeding in women who don’t want to   preserve fertility Thermal Balloon Endometrial Ablation • Resectoscopic procedures (endometrial ablation, hysteroscopic myomectomy) Hysteroscopic Sterilisation as an alternative to laparoscopic sterilisation Vaginal and prolapse procedures Vaginal Hysterectomy which involves removing the uterus from the vagina for a variety of indications when it is suitable to do so Anterior Vaginal Repair – a common procedure that is usually performed for the indication of anterior vaginal wall prolapse commonly known   as cystocele Posterior Vaginal Repair – a common procedure for the surgical management of posterior vaginal wall prolapse commonly known as rectocele Sacrospinous Fixation – a common procedure that is commonly performed for the surgical management of the uterine prolapse or prolapse of   the vaginal vault (in women who had previous hysterectomy) • Medical and surgical management of urinary incontinence, inserting Tension Free Vaginal Tape commonly known as TVT or TVT-O. This is a highly   successful procedure that is used in the treatment of a specific type of urinary incontinence known as stress incontinence, and is usually   performed with cystoscopy. Open surgery (laparotomy) This kind of surgical approach is generally reserved for cases when minimal invasive procedures are not possible or not appropriate. Common gynaecological open surgical procedures are: Total Abdominal Hysterectomy • Salpingo-Oophorectomy (removing the ovary and fallopian tube) • Exploratory Laparotomy Colposcopy Medhat is a certified colposcopist. For the diagnosis and treatment of abnormal cervical pap smears he is actively participating in an official auditing program that is coordinated by the Colposcopy Quality Improvement Program (C-QuIP). Medhat has performed many colposcopic assessments and treated many high grade abnormal pap smears (CIN2/ CIN3/ AIS) with a variety of different surgical procedures like Loop Excision of Transformation Zone commonly known as LETZ and cold knife cone biopsy.
